Seminary for Society is the writings, lectures, audio, videos, and off-the-cuff musings in public theology by me, Kyle David Bennett, Ph.D.

I focus on the these spaces and spheres of society:

The living room (family)
The classroom (education)
The cubicle (work)
The pew (church)
The public square (citizenship)

I write on them in this way:

"Prayers against a Hedonistic Culture"
"Devotionals for Life in a Post-Christian World"
"Meditations on Self-Centered Spaces"
"Catechesis for the Common Good"
"Analyses of a Dark Age"

I look at them through these lens:

Modern values and the need for asceticism
-
What are the values being promoted in our modern age?
How are they working against true happiness?
In what ways are they cultivating disease of the mind or decadence in living?
How might asceticism and the virtue and vice tradition be a helpful remedy?

Cultural practices and lessons learned from monastic life
-
What are the social practices prevalent in contemporary culture today?
How are they working against political harmony?
In what ways are they leading to a degradation of relationships and desecration of institutions?
How might monastic practices be a helpful remedy?

Society and the importance of Reformed principles and ethics
-
What are the current issues plaguing various spheres of society?
How are they working against Christian holiness?
In what ways are they creating division in the church?
How might Reformed public theology and ethics be a helpful remedy?
